Chemical listing proposals : 

 

The following proposals have been submitted to the Secretariat for listing a chemical in Annexes A, B and/or C of the Stockholm Convention in accordance with paragraph 1 of Article 8.

  • Proposal to add a new chemical (pentabromodiphenyl ether) to the Stockholm Convention on Persistent Organic Pollutants; letter dated 28 January 2005 from the Government of Norway to the Secretariat of the Stockholm Convention
    • Enclosure 1: The report pentabromodiphenyl ether as a global POP
    • Enclosure 2: Addendum to the report pentabromodiphenyl ether as a global POP
  • Proposal by the European Community and its Member States that are Party to the Stockholm Convention to add chlordecone to Annex A of the Convention  
  • Proposal by the European Community and its Member States that are Party to the Stockholm Convention to add hexabromobiphenyl to Annex A of the Convention
  • Proposal by Mexico to add lindane to Annex A of the Convention  
  • Proposal by Sweden for listing perfluorooctaine sulfonate (PFOS) in Annex A of the Convention:
    • Letter from Viktoria Ljung submitting the proposal
    • Proposal for listing PFOS in Annex A
    • Dossier prepared by the Swedish Chemicals Inspectorate for the nomination of PFOS to the UNECE LRTAP Protocol and Stockholm Convention
    • PFOS Reduction Strategy and Analysis of Advantages and Drawbacks, Stage 4 Final Report, prepared the UK Department of Environment, Food and Rural Affairs
    • Draft Environmental Risk Evaluation Report on PFOS by the UK Environment Agency
    • OECD Hazard Assessment of PFOS and its salts
