At its twelfth meeting, held from 28 April to 9 May 2025 in Geneva, the Conference of the Parties to the Stockholm Convention adopted decision SC-12/7 on national implementation plans.
By decision SC-12/7, the Conference of the Parties took note of draft guidance on inventories and alternatives to newly listed POPs, as well as other available guidance supporting the development and updating of national implementation plans. The Conference of the Parties invited Parties and observers to submit comments on the guidance and requested the Secretariat to update the guidance, taking into account the comments received.
Decision SC-12/7 also requested the Secretariat to develop guidance to assist Parties in preparing inventories of, and identifying alternatives to, the POPs newly listed at the twelfth meeting of the Conference of the Parties, for consideration by the Conference of the Parties at its thirteenth meeting.
The Secretariat has further developed and updated the guidance, taking into account comments received from Parties and observers. Parties, observers and other experts are invited to review the following twelve draft guidance documents and submit comments to the Secretariat (kei.ohno@un.org) by 30 November 2026.
The Secretariat will further revise the draft guidance, as appropriate, taking into account comments received, prior to its submission for consideration by the Conference of the Parties at its thirteenth meeting.
